Dion's
Poetry Journey

When Dion O’Reilly was nineteen, she survived a house fire, losing most of her backside skin as well as pieces of hand and foot. In addition, she grew up on an isolated family compound where cruelty was entertainment, a father's Jewish identity was shamed and hidden, while a sadistic mother's British homeland was elevated. Dion’s poetry seeks to take memories—found items in the mind—and pour them into different containers, over and over, alchemizing the narrative and finding presence in unexpected places.
